Using a geothermal system in Nashville and Middle Tennessee allows you to heat and cool your home with just one system. It also allows you to do so very reliably. When you call the Maynard Man for your geothermal installation and services, the job is simply done right. Installing these systems is complex, but our new construction team is always up to the challenge of designing and building ideal systems.
How Geothermal Heating and Cooling Works
Geothermal systems are heat pumps that exchange heat with the ground rather than with the air. An underground loop is buried on your property, and this loop is filled with an antifreeze solution. In the winter, it gathers heat from the ground and then exchanges that heat with the refrigerant in the heat pump. This refrigerant is compressed, and its heat is used to warm your home.
In the summer, the process is reversed. Refrigerant evaporates in your home, drawing heat out of the air within. That heat transfers to the solution circulating throughout the geothermal loop and is dispersed into the ground. Because temperatures beneath the ground are fairly constant, heating and cooling your home this way is incredibly efficient and reliable. At least, it is when the Maynard Man installs and services your geothermal system.
