The Maynard Man knows, that no plumbing problem ever happens, or at least makes itself apparent, at a convenient time. So it makes sense that you want to have your plumbing issues fixed ASAP. But does this mean you have to inconvenience your own schedule to make that happen?
Actually, not all the time. There are some instances where a plumbing issue really is urgent, and therefore you should give The Maynard Man a call. In some cases, however, your plumbing need could probably wait. So, how do you know the difference? Read on to find out!
Do you have water gushing out of a hole in the wall, with no clue where your main water line is? First, give us a call right away. We might even be able to help you over the phone by telling you where your main water line may be located so that you can shut it off.
Keep in mind that separate appliances might have their own shut-off, located right on the water line. This is usually the case with sinks and with toilets. If, however, it’s a pipe that’s behind a wall or beneath the floor, please don’t wait to call us.
And whether you get the water line shut off or not, while you wait for us to arrive, do your best to remove furniture and other property that can be moved to mitigate water damage.
2. There Was a Sudden Drop in Water Pressure
If there’s a slow decline in water pressure over time, it’s typically the sign that there is a slow-growing clog in a pipe or in your main water line. This can be caused by debris, a broken water line, or even hard water mineral build-up.
If, however, there is a sudden decline in water pressure with one appliance or throughout your home, it’s a sign that there was a pipe rupture, and it’s time to give our team a call.
3. You Notice an Unexplainable Hot Spot on Your Floor
Did you know that your home probably has plumbing pipes running below the foundation of your home? And depending on the age of your home, you could experience one of the most insidious types of leaks there is?
That’s right, a slab leak. The reason this may be an emergency is that slab leaks typically go on for a long time before they’re noticed. So, by the time they are noticed, they can inflict a lot of property damage.
